MAC Amber Lights Eyeshadow Face of the Day: Version 1 - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Ladies, cheers to your recommendations I'm at present officially obsessed with MAC Amber Lights eyeshadow, aka the ultimate pan of dandy statuary goodness. 🙂
Yesterday, I borrowed a few of your color combination suggestions for this plummy bronze center.
I know bound is right around the corner and all, but the colors remind me of fall leaves.
I used six MAC products for the look.
- MAC Indianwood Paint Pot cream shadow: shimmery bronze
- MAC Amber Lights eyeshadow: shimmery bang-up brown
- MAC Saddle eyeshadow: matte orangey brown
- MAC Star Violet eyeshadow: shimmery plummy brown
- MAC Shadowy Lady eyeshadow: matte plummy blackness
- MAC Love Lust eyeshadow: shimmery bronzy peach
It starts out with a thin layer of Indianwood Paint Pot patted over the entire chapeau. Information technology's a cream base that adds staying power to the powder eyeshadows and turns up the colour intensity.
After Indianwood, I go straight for Amber Lights, aka my new eyeshadow crush, applying information technology on the lid with a MAC 239 Eye Shader Brush.
For added colour and dissimilarity in the pucker, I follow Amber Lights with a sweeping of Saddle eyeshadow on the inner one-half of the crease using a MAC 217 Blending Castor. After that, I sweep Star Violet eyeshadow on the outer one-half with a MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush.
I'm shooting for a little more than of a smokey wait, so I grab my trusty pan of MAC Shadowy Lady eyeshadow (remember her from the MAC Cult of Cherry-red Collection?) and pat her in the outer corner with the MAC 239.
After lining both the upper and lower lash lines with a MAC 209 Eyeliner Brush, I sweep some Dearest Lust eyeshadow onto the brow os and into the inner corner of the center with a MAC 217 Blending Brush.
A few coats of mascara and concealer nether the eyes, and and then I movement on to the lips and cheeks…
For the rest of the look, I decided to go with a stiff lip and almost-nude cheeks. I use a single of layer of MAC O lipstick (a plummy cerise) on the lips and MAC Emote chroma on the cheeks.
I think I'll wear this look with my plum dress (or maybe a white peak and chunky aureate jewelry) out to dinner tonight…
Weird urges
This morning I woke upwards needing to hear some Tevin Campbell. Retrieve him from the '90s? I'thou Set was quite the boring jam back in the solar day!
I have no thought what brought on the T. Campbell nostalgia. I approximate information technology could have been the box of Daughter Watch Sparse Mint cookies I ate right before bed…
I wonder if there'due south a link betwixt Tevin Campbell and Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. Part of me wants to carry an experiment over the class of several weeks. The other part of me — the one reaching for the stretchy pants a little too ofttimes these days — believes this might not exist a skilful idea.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
